Tesla Revolutionizes Charging with Drive-in Cinema and Retro Diner in Los Angeles

Elon Musk's dream, this time not too far-fetched, is about to materialize with the creation of a Tesla Supercharger featuring a Drive-in Movie and a 1950s-style diner, bridging one of the icons of the last century with one of the most cutting-edge technologies of the present. The project was unveiled during the recent Investor Day held in March, alongside innovations like wireless home charging, with the opening line, "We haven't forgotten to do amazing things."

This charging, cinema, and dining hub will offer customers 32 charging stalls and two large high-resolution screens. Initially planned for Santa Monica at various locations, the plan changed course, favoring a single location in Hollywood, precisely at 7001 W. Santa Monica Boulevard. The project has been entrusted to Stantec Architecture, headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, while the contracting firm is PCL Construction Services Inc., based in Glendale, California. By the end of July, Tesla received approval to assess the designated area and begin constructing the walls and platforms that will host the cinematic screens on the lot.

The Texan company submitted multiple applications in November 2022, and after eight months, the Diner/Movie/Supercharger project was approved by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. Several of Tesla's requests necessitated adjustments and implementations, and now the company can confidently proceed to the subsequent phases of study and design.

Upon completion, the charging and entertainment hub will undoubtedly become an irresistible attraction, appealing to both tourists and residents.
